Introduction to The Wisdom - 1

Introduction to The Wisdom

Part 1

First of all, we must explain what The Wisdom defines as the inner hidden reality. Human beings ordinarily view an object, be it that of a human, an animal, a plant, or something created by their own species, without really knowing or even considering its inner reality. We see the form aspect and interpret that form without sensing its inner essential meaning. The form is a closed door which we have never opened into the true world of meaning. Humanity sees the door as being all there is, not even understanding that it is a door through which our awareness can pass into perception of what it hides.

The inner reality remains hidden because humanity perceives only its symbol, that appearance which indicates its presence. This presence of inner reality, or essential meaning, has been occluded or hidden from view by humanity’s interpretation of the symbolic appearance of its presence.

Human beings see, not the reality, but the vehicle of its expression. Therefore, they often miss even its expression. This inner reality can be perceived, known, and applied by all interested members of the human family. It is not something above and beyond the perception of average human beings when they are consciously making an effort toward its understanding. It is not something which one is meant to accept on blind faith because one cannot perceive it. It is perceivable, and understandable to the human consciousness.

The metaphysical schools are recognized as being one of the first and primary foundations for the building of this Introduction to The Wisdom new science. Furthermore, they are given credence for providing an adequate background to the new student of the Wisdom.

The many religions existent in the world today are recognized by The Wisdom as a fulfillment of humanity’s need. Each one is recognized as having its place in God's Plan, as fulfilling the need presented by those who make up its following.

The purpose of The Wisdom is the establishment of true brotherhood among all people as a result of universal understanding. This presupposes an educational program which will give all people a common background of knowledge sufficient to permit a solution of any problem in relationship, whether it exists in the family, the community, the race, or the world.

This, of course, presupposes the fact that there is such a background of knowledge which can be presented to, and understood by, all people. The teachings of The Wisdom offers methods and modes of presentation which will make knowledge understandable to all levels of consciousness. The development of the human consciousness at present is ready and awaiting this advance in awareness.

This background knowledge consists of a synthesis of all Truth, existent within all form. In other words, the contention is that every form of teaching contains truth, regardless of seeming differences, and that the common meeting ground is found when that truth is emphasized rather than the seeming difference.

When the barriers presented by languages, terminology, Introduction to The Wisdom customs, cultural background, etc., are seen in their true light, they will no longer exist as such, but will be known as the vehicles of expression for the Universal Truth. Then can humanity resolve its conflict into harmony and live as brothers in the world of human relationships.

Looking at this from a limited point of view, that is, from within the form of one’s own particular belief, the task seems well-nigh impossible. However, when looking at it from the perspective which sees all truth as related to one Universal Truth, regardless of the form its expression may be taking at any given time, the task is not only possible but probable. It is the next advancement to be made by the human family in its normal evolutionary development.

The task is one of relating all fields of thought to one another, of relating the truth within all religions to one another, of relating science to religion, etc. Humanity must see through the barriers of its own formulated ideals and beliefs. But, before it can do this, light must be thrown upon both the form and that which it contains, so truth is presented within its field of vision.

This is what the presentation of this teaching attempts to do. Anyone accepting this teaching is in no way obligated to The Wisdom for any concept that they receive. Humanity is obligated only to itself and must be left free to work out its own salvation.

The purpose and goal of the work to be done is very simple when seen in the light of the above. The teaching of The Wisdom is to be one of the first links in a chain of light which will eventually encircle the globe.
